In vitro study | Tat-beclin 1 is a cell permeable peptide, which can induce autophagy. In various cell lines and primary mouse embryonic fibroblasts, treatment with Tat-beclin 1 was able to cause a concentration-dependent reduction in the number of p62, a non-lipidated form of LC3, LC3-I conversion to lipidation, autophagosome-associated LC3, LC3-II form. In human primary monocyte-derived macrophages, Tat-beclin 1 significantly inhibited HIV-1 replication. |
In vivo study | Tat-beclin 1 is able to induce autophagy in peripheral tissues of adult mice as well as in the central nervous system of neonatal mice. Adult mice and newborn mice were tolerant to Tat-beclin1 treatment per day. Tat-beclin 1 can improve the clinical efficacy of mice infected with CNS WNV(West Nile virus). |
